A Grade II listed 17th century house on the south side of Wimbledon Common which once belonged to William Wilberforce is for sale.

After working with both English Heritage and the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, the current owners of 6 Southside have completed a renovation and refurbishment project which has combined traditional materials with modern technology.

As a young boy, Wilberforce stayed with his uncle and aunt at Lauriston House. After inheriting the house, he lived there for several years before selling it in 1786. All that remains of the house today is this the former coach house which bears a blue plaque.

The three-bedroom house is approached through a spacious 1,500sq ft walled courtyard and is entered via a stable door. The kitchen has a 4-door Aga and the living/dining room boasts a bespoke KEF surround sound speaker system.
