Mallorcan property for sale
A superb refurbished finca just 15 minutes from Palma has come onto the market
For those who don't want to get their hands dirty, a completely refurbished Mallorcan finca dating back to the 18th century is on the market. Graham Baxter, the current owner of Casa Bali, has totally rebuilt the house, which is only two minutes from the popular village of Santa Maria. He has spent the last four years working with two local builders, so now the next owner can simply enjoy the efforts of their labours. ‘Now, the kitchen is fully equipped with a large preparation area and new appliances, there is air-conditioning and a sound system throughout the finca, satellite television and a new alarm system,' he says. Along with the contemporary additions, Baxter and his team have paid attention to restoring timber beams, wood floors, antique woodwork and stone clad walls that he says are a nod to the past and 'a reminder of the rustic setting.'

An unusual lounge/dining room is separated by stone columns and the property is great for entertaining with six bedrooms (one of which is part of a guest apartment with separate access), five bathrooms and a lake-style swimming pool and views over the Tramuntana mountains. There is the possibility of obtaining more land, and for those keen to work part or even fulltime from the finca, Baxter points out that a mezzanine office overlooks the sitting room. Santa Maria is a pretty market town, just 15 minutes from Palma and its international airport. The price of Casa Bali is £2.19 million, through Engel & Völkers 0034 971 621629.
