Following the successful sale of of four sporting estates to English buyers last year, the future of North Slipperfield looks bright.
Following last year’s sale of four low-key sporting estates in the Highlands, Sutherland and the Cairngorms, mainly to buyers from East Anglia, Evelyn Channing of Savills in Edinburgh (0131–247 3720) is confident of a successful outcome to the launch of the north Slipperfield sporting estate, grouse moor and farm near west Linton in the Scottish Borders, half an hour’s drive from Edinburgh city centre.
Offers over £2.4m are sought for the 6,622 acre estate (2,527 acres owned and 4,095 acres leased), which has been developed by an enthusiastic consortium of friends to provide good low-ground pheasant shooting, roe-deer stalking, trout fishing, duck flighting and goose shooting. The estate comes with a 212-acre, in-hand farm, 104 acres of woodland, a farmhouse and cottages and important planning consents, including permission to build a 26-bedroom lodge, which could accommodate shooting guests from north Slipperfield or players from the nearby west Linton championship golf course.
