The Duchess of Cambridge gives birth to a boy
The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to the future heir to the throne


The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a boy this afternoon. The boy, weighing 8lb 6oz, was born at 4.24pm.
The Duchess gave birth in the private Lindo wing of St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, with the Duke of Cambridge present.
A statement was released by Kensington Palace confirming the birth and stating that Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well and will remain in hospital overnight.
