FMD movement restrictions to end
FMD movement restrictions are to end on Wednesday, say DEFRA

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has announced that, provided there is no change to the disease situation, the Foot and Mouth (FMD) protection zone in Surrey will be lifted on Wednesday.
All movement restrictions in England, outside the FMD Risk Area, will also end. However, the Surveillance Zone will remain in place until 5 November at the earliest.
Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer Fred Landeg, said: 'Throughout the outbreak we have acted on the evidence, keeping controls proportionate to the disease risk.'
The FMD movement restrictions will end on Wednesday, 17 October.
