Denman wins Cheltenham Gold Cup; stablemate Kauto Star comes second

Denman has won the Cheltenham Gold Cup, pushing his stablemate Kauto Star into second place.
Denman, 9-4 second favourite, was trained by Paul Nicholls (as was 10-11 favourite Kauto Star), and ridden by Sam Thomas. He won by seven lengths.
Neptune Collonges set an early pace and came third, which means that Paul Nicholls's stable got a 1-2-3 result.
Mr Nicholls said: 'It was a great performance, good for the whole team. Just brilliant.'
Today's victory for Denman over his stablemate Kauto Star comes after Wednesday's were cancelled due to high winds.
