Where Nestled in the hill top village of Crillon le Brave, it is 25 miles north east of Avignon in the heart of Provence
The History The hotel walls feel seeped in Provencal history with the village itself dating back to the Roman times. The hotel was founded in 1988 by Peter Chittick who went shopping for a Provencal property to convert into a hotel. 11 bedrooms have now expanded to become 32 and people travel from all over the globe to sample the classic French luxury.
Sleep The newly launched suite and deluxe room have been created by British interior designer, Penny Lydon of Chalkhouse Design and are quite simply divine. The suite is 800 feet in size and boasts a private terrace, a working fireplace, and breathtaking panoramic views of Mont Ventoux, there are 6 windows and that’s not counting those in the enormous bathroom.
Eat From truffle hunting to wine tasting holidays this is a hotel that is very much focused on the food. Feast at breakfast on the terrace overlooking the pool and the rolling hills of the surrounding countryside and later, sample a tasting menu matched with different wines for dinner. Ensure to start with an empty stomach though, this is seriously indulgent.

Local attractions Head up Mont Ventoux to watch the sunset. Remember to take a jumper as it gets chilly up there but stunning panoramic views of Provence on one side and the Alps on the other will greet you.
