The common snowdrop increases threefold each year – now is the time to divide and spread the plants for next year

The common snowdrop increases threefold each year, so it makes sense to lift, divide and spread the plants to achieve carpets of beauty rather than tight clumps. Now is the hour, when the flowers have gone over, but the leaves are still green. Use a trowel to lift the bulbs, tease them apart and replant the individual bulbs at the same depth. If you're planting into turf, make a cross incision with a trowel or knife, slide each bulb into the slot and lightly firm to level. It's simple, it doesn't take long and the investment pays handsome dividends.
