The Country Life Daisy
The Country Life Daisy has been created especially for Country Life magazine and the Field & Country Fair and is a delicate blend of quintessentially British summer ingredients - gin, the finest Earl Grey tea and strawberries
The cocktail’s base is Blackdown Sussex Dry Gin, the first Gin to be produced in Sussex. A delicate gin with traditional woody notes, full of flavour and slightly sweet with a smooth mouth feel, Backdown Sussex Dry is distilled 7 times from 100% British wheat, infused with 11 botanicals including Juniper, Angelica, Cassia Bark, Orris Root, Liquorice, Cinnamon, Bitter Orange Zest, Sweet Orange Zest, Lemon Zest, Coriander, Nutmeg.

It is then blended with just pure Sussex water, charcoal filtered with Silver Birch sap added after distillation. The Silver Birch sap is tapped once a year in early spring and is sourced within the 40 acres of woodlands, which surround Blackdown’s Sussex distillery.
The Rare Earl Grey tea is Earl Grey as it used to be! Rare Earl Grey is a rich complex black tea delicately enhanced with the purest bergamot oil from Calabria in southern Italy producing a wonderfully bright, spectacularly balanced and highly versatile tea. Cold steeping the tea overnight produced a depth of flavour which is perfect for use in cocktails.
Ingredients 30ml - Blackdown Sussex Dry Gin 25ml - Fresh Lemon Juice 20ml - Bols Triple Sec 15ml - Bottle Green Strawberry Cordial 75ml - Rare Earl Grey Tea from the Rare Tea Company
Method Cold steep Earl Grey Tea overnight Add ice and all ingredients to a cocktail shaker Shake vigorously Strain into a chilled cocktail glass Garnish with a lemon twist Enjoy
