How to make bramble whisky

With autumn fast approaching and the hedges heavy with brambles (or blackberries if you prefer), this is the time to bottle a taste of summer to enjoy when winter sets in.

Half fill a 3 litre storage jar with brambles. Add 8 ounces of sugar and 2 litres of whiskey. Leave it in the jar for six months, or for as long as you can resist it.

Strain through a coffee filter to bottle, and drink. The remaining fruit is delicious to eat with ice cream.
