Russell Taylor Architects – Designers in the Classical Tradition, based in London and Cornwall
Russell Taylor Architects are a small and friendly practice established in 2005 by Russell Taylor, a renowned expert on Georgian, Classical and traditional architecture. Russell is versed in all period architectural languages and he leads a skilled, experienced team with a wealth of knowledge in the use of traditional building materials and techniques. They design beautiful, elegant homes in harmony with the specificity of their context that are convenient, sustainable and cost effective.
Russell Taylor Architects undertake work throughout the country, in particular London and the South West, and occasionally abroad.
Principles
Russell Taylor Architects' work encompasses: new houses, refurbishment of Listed and historic buildings, conservation, extensions and interior design. Uniquely, they design down to the smallest detail - not just façades, doors and windows - but also the elements of good architecture: staircases, chimneypieces, panelling, cornices, fixed furniture, and occasionally light fittings, ironmongery, carpets etc.
Every component is a bespoke design, specific and appropriate for its historical and geographical context and tailored to the style and taste of our clients.
It is this ability to get the details right that makes a design convincing and beautiful, giving it life and personality, appropriate for the 21st century yet timeless.

Country Life is unlike any other magazine: the only glossy weekly on the newsstand and the only magazine that has been guest-edited by HRH The King not once, but twice. It is a celebration of modern rural life and all its diverse joys and pleasures — that was first published in Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee year. Our eclectic mixture of witty and informative content — from the most up-to-date property news and commentary and a coveted glimpse inside some of the UK's best houses and gardens, to gardening, the arts and interior design, written by experts in their field — still cannot be found in print or online, anywhere else.
