Lucy is greatly skilled with print, which she applies with a relaxed charm, always with longevity rather than passing trends in mind. Lucy draws influence from art, travel, nature and a variety of cultures and eras to inform her vision. Antiques play a key part in her projects, and often it can be a single piece found at auction or an antiques fair that sparks the inspiration for an entire scheme.

Lucy’s projects are filled with colour, pattern and beautiful things, with layers of the unexpected. The LCI team works with the natural bones of a house, retaining and enhancing original beauty and authenticity.

Lucy’s trademarks:

  • Fabric walling. Luxurious and sumptuous, it adds a feeling of cosiness and warmth. If fabric walling won’t work, using wallpaper instantly transforms a space.
  • Using lots of colours and mixing patterns to make an impact.
  • Incorporating art and antiques into schemes and designs.
  • Mixing old with new, from textiles to furniture.

Recent and current projects:

With a portfolio ranging from charming farmhouses to sprawling country estates, townhouses and commercial spaces, Lucy Cunningham Interiors offers a tailored and individual service, working closely with clients to deliver a timeless result that will be loved and lived in for years to come. Lucy and her team can oversee the full refurbishment and redecoration – recent projects include:

  • A 7 bedroom family house just outside Burford
  • A farmhouse in West Sussex
  • A mews house in Marylebone
  • A listed Georgian house in Hampshire

Country Life

Country Life is unlike any other magazine: the only glossy weekly on the newsstand and the only magazine that has been guest-edited by HRH The King not once, but twice. It is a celebration of modern rural life and all its diverse joys and pleasures — that was first published in Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee year. Our eclectic mixture of witty and informative content — from the most up-to-date property news and commentary and a coveted glimpse inside some of the UK's best houses and gardens, to gardening, the arts and interior design, written by experts in their field — still cannot be found in print or online, anywhere else.
