The HollandGreen Practice

HollandGreen designs and delivers exceptional homes and gardens. They are unique in offering an integrated, end-to-end service across architecture, interior design and landscape design from the same Studio.

Specialists in listed homes and country estates, equestrian centres, spas, contemporary new builds and urban townhouses, they deliver a bespoke response to their clients’ needs, drawing inspiration from the context of the landscape to create individually-conceived homes to the highest standard of quality and detail.

HollandGreen craft spaces which inspire, nurture and uplift, connecting their clients to nature and leaving an enduring legacy.

Founded in 2010 by Ben Holland and Stephen Green, HollandGreen are a team of over 40 individuals, delivering commissions across the UK and internationally.  They work in close partnership with Historic England and have extensive experience of the planning system to guide and oversee their clients’ projects.

Specialists in Heritage Homes

HollandGreen’s design process encompasses a delicate balance – preserving the rich heritage, inherent uniqueness and structural integrity of historic homes, whilst integrating thoughtful and unobtrusive modern functionality.

They are adept at introducing new architectural design to create an exciting contrast clearly defining old and new, which does not detract from the original building but rather creates its next chapter and future legacy.  They look to create a natural flow of spaces – introducing more open family living, creating more of a connection to the garden, and bringing more light into historically dark rooms.

HollandGreen’s team advocate the reuse of original materials whenever feasible, minimising waste, preserving historical authenticity, and sourcing durable and sustainable elements so their schemes are high quality, maintainable, and timeless in design. They carry out detailed research into the history of each property, liaising with heritage consultants, archaeologists, and local planning teams, and frequently visiting properties with clients before they have purchased to assess what could be possible from a design, planning and budgetary perspective.

The HollandGreen Approach

Holistic Design: Their Architects, Interior Designers and Landscape Designers collaborate in the same Studio, producing beautifully integrated designs where everything works together and is carefully considered from the outset, resulting in exceptional spaces.

Client Experience: Encouraging design exploration within a supportive and friendly environment, they collaborate with their clients to create imaginative and individual concepts as part of a rewarding design journey.

Technical Delivery: They stand apart in technical design, transforming ambitious concepts and design visions into meticulously crafted construction packages for contractors, ensuring projects run smoothly, stay within budget, and are executed with the utmost attention to detail.

In-House Project Management: Their specialist Project Managers coordinate all aspects of each project, from the design stages through to build and installation, liaising with external consultants and contractors to ensure costs are closely managed, and any delays or disruptions which can arise on site are resolved quickly.

Responsible Design

HollandGreen are committed to making a positive contribution to carbon capture and storage within the residential property sector.  They are part of the RIBA 2030 Sustainable Outcomes initiative, delivering projects that reduce energy consumption and are ‘zero carbon’ and sharing their research with industry partners.  They support the Charity Woodland Heritage campaigning for the creation and management of productive UK woodlands, delivering carbon sequestration and research into woodland health and biodiversity.

Little Black Book

HollandGreen work with the best in the industry to make sure their clients’ projects are delivered successfully, on time and to budget, from surveyors, structural engineers, planning consultants to smart home and security providers, archaeologists, arboriculturists and ecologists, to name a few.
