There’s still plenty of time to breathe new life into your garden, so stop off at one of these specialist fairs and get some seasonal inspiration.
September 12 The Generous Gardener’s Autumn Specialist Plant Sale The Coach House Garden Ampney Crucis Gloucestershire 01285 850256 www.thegenerousgardener.co.uk Hydrangeas, late summer perennials, bulbs and climbers. Supporting the James Hopkins Trust, a local charity providing care for severely disabled and critically ill children. 10am–3pm
September 14 Suffolk Group Plant Heritage Autumn Fair Helmingham Hall Stowmarket Suffolk 01473 890799 www.helmingham.com Specialist nurseries and stands selling garden furniture and accessories, plus the Plant Doctors will be on hand to answer questions. Lady Tollemache will also be taking visitors on a guided tour of the gardens at midday: tickets £10 10am–4pm
September 14 Rare Plant Fair Llanover House Near Abergavenny Monmouthshire www.rareplantfair.co.uk Fourteen specialist nurseries, plus homemade refreshments. Supporting St Bartholomew’s Church, Llanover. 11am–4pm
September 20–21 Autumn Plant Fair Weekend RHS Hyde Hall Chelmsford Essex 0845 2658071 www.rhs.org.uk Stock up on a huge range of plants at this two-day sale organised by Plant Heritage. The first 250 visitors each day will receive free Narcissus ‘Elka’ bulbs. 10am–4pm
September 21 Specialist Plant Fair Spetchley Park Gardens Spetchley Worcestershire 01905 345106 www.plantfair.co.uk More than 20 specialist nurseries with Japanese maples, grasses, ferns, autumn-flowering asters, specie oaks and rare trees on sale. 11am–5pm
