Under constant threat from the American grey, red squirrels are fighting back in parts of the UK

It's always a pleasure to see a red squirrel in the wild in the UK. Populations have dwindled for years as the greys slowly advance, but there are bodies doing all they can to conserve and grow the pockets we do still have within the country like the Red Squirrel Survival Trust. For now, significant populations remain in Scotland and the Isle of Wight
