Rise in holiday home rentals
A survey of holiday home owners reveals that the number of people renting out their second homes has leapt from 30% to 43% over the past year

A growing number of second home owners are choosing to rent out their properties to cover the costs of mortgages, taxes and upkeep, according to Holidaylettings.co.uk.
A third of owners said they manage to rent out their properties for more than half the year, while 50% said they can fill at least 18 week.
In terms of destinations, Portugal, France and Spain dominate the holiday home market.
