Georgian house and museum, Mayfair, London
The project at his historically significant house required complete internal remodelling of a Grade I listed structure, including direct links between the two early Georgian terrace buildings and their presentation as a 'living' museum. Detailed research into Georgian interior design, paints & furnishings was a fundamental part of the design process. A challenge for any historic museum is the necessary introduction of modern infrastructure into original fabric. Here lighting, fire detection etc has been appropriately and carefully integrated with the historic interiors.
