The diaspora of Scotland are well-known for celebrating Burns Night on January 25 with gusto, and this year The British Association of Monaco are holding their annual Caledonian jamboree on Saturday 29 January at the Café de Paris.
It’s set to be a corking evening, with pipes played by piper John Thompson, excellent whisky, the Selkirk Grace before supper, the address to the haggis, the speech to the Immortal Memory, the toast to the Lassies, and the Lassies’ reply. Glasgow’s Craigenroan Ceilidh Band are to welcome guests, while the evening is being sponsored by La Maison D’Ecosse, who have personally delivered the haggis from Scotland to the Café de Paris.
Launched last year, La Maison D’Ecosse are now official suppliers of Whisky and luxury food to top-end hotels and restaurants in Monaco, and are currently offering a limited edition private stock scotch whisky Chosen by Charles Maclean and bottled by adelphi in Scotland called the Monaco Blend.
Monaco’s love affair with Scotland continues with a whisky show planned in Montecarlo for November, with master classes of the best single malts with the master blenders.
