Once upon a time, The Airds was a rough-and-ready ferry inn, serving those on their way to or from Lismore Island. Things are rather more comfortable nowadays, and this boutique hotel on the shores of Loch Linnhe has interiors that wouldn’t look out of place in the smartest Scottish country house. People come from miles around to sample the restaurant’s tasting menu, which currently features west-coast cod, new-season lamb and roasted quail.
