Bird flu protection and surveillance zones are to be lifted from tomorrow, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has announced.
Bird flu protection zones were put in place after the bird flu outbreak last month. Experts have declared that it is now safe to lift the zones.
Bird flu protection zones: timetable
Saturday 8 December: The first protection zone is to lift, and become part of the wider surveillance zone.
Monday 10 December: The second protection zone will lift, and become part of the wider surveillance zone.
The requirement to house all birds within the restricted zone will also lift on Monday 10 December.
Wednesday 19 December: The wider surveillance zone and restricted zone will lift.
