Snow is predicted for the Easter break, with arctic winds moving across Britain over the Easter weekend.
Eastern regions will see a sprinkling of snow, while all areas of Britain will experience frost – with Scotland and northern England being hit worst.
Easter is one of the busiest times of the year on the roads, but the Met Office has issued a ‘code yellow’ alert on its new traffic light system, that was revealed yesterday, which means that the public should be aware of potential problems.
Helen Chivers, of the Met Office, said: ‘It looks as though we are going to have a white Easter. Weve got northerly winds sweeping in from Thursday, and we will be looking at nighttime temperatures of minus 2C (28F) or minus 3C in quite a lot of rural areas.’
Easter will see snow in northerly areas and Scotland, while the rest of Britain will experience arctic winds.
