Yoo, a property development company led by Philippe Starck and John Hitchcox have unveiled plans for a series of 48 four-bedroom second homes to be built on lakes near Lechlande, in the Cotswolds.
‘The Lakes by yoo’ is set around six clear water lakes in over 650 acres. The contemporary houses will benefit from lakeside views and row boat landings, outdoor kitchen barbeque areas, saunas, hot tubs, and exterior fireplaces. Owners will be looked after by an onsite concierge and hotel-service housekeeping.
There is outline planning permission for 160 second homes in total, plus a hotel and spa facility. Subsequent phases will see a variety of house types, with some larger units planned as well as some 2 bedroom apartments to be built in the woodland.
As is the case with many high end developments these days, the focus of the developers has been ensuring there are plenty of on-site activities. In this case, they hope to make the most of the Cotswolds countryside by offering sailing and canoeing on the lakes, hiking, nature and mountain biking trails throughout the site, fishing, equestrian activities and a mini-yoo kids club available to all residents.
