Hunton Court, which was advertised in Country Life on March 13 of this year, has been sold for ‘well in excess’ of the £5.5m guide price.
Knight Frank have exchanged contracts on the Edwardian stately home, which is just 4.5 miles from Maidstone in Kent. It was once the home of PM Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman.
‘ We had over 30 viewings, with 20% from overseas, 40% national (from London or other counties) and 40% from Kent,’ explains Edward Rook, Knight Frank Sevenoaks.
‘We had 6 different parties bidding with the competition taking the sale price to well in excess of the guide price and contracts were exchanged in 10 working days.’
The house is Grade II listed and has five reception rooms and eight bedrooms, extensive domestic offices, a coach house and stables.
