Prepare for a hot June and a rainy summer, according to forecasts from the Met Office.
June temperatures are expected to exceed 26C, with southern Britain experiencing occasional thunderstorms.
July and August, however, will be cool and rainy.
Dave Britten of the Met Office said that, following June, the rest of the summer is expected to be ‘typically British.
‘Although it is unlikely to be as wet as the previous two years,’ continued Mr Britten, ‘there will be a lot of rain.’
Somerset’s the Sunrise Celebration 2008 festival had to be abandoned because of heavy rain. ‘It’s rotten to be robbed by the weather,’ said a spokesperson.
