Zara Phillips has had to withdraw from Beijing 2008 Olympics following an injury to her horse Toytown. Toytown’s injury has not yet been revealed, but was sustained during training.
Zara Phillips said: ‘I am very disappointed not to have the opportunity to ride at the Olympic Games and feel that Toytown deserved his chance to go. However, with horses these things happen and we have a very strong team.’
The British Equestrian Federation (BEF) will nominate a replacement for
Phillips and the British Olympic Association will announce Phillips’ replacement shortly.
Toytown was also injured in 2004, which caused Phillips to pull out of the Athens Olympics as well. She has now withdrawn from Beijing 2008.
