Glentower Lodge is a unique former shooting lodge in Perthshire which dates back to Victorian times. The house has a striking five-story castellated tower and was built in 1880 as a shooting lodge for a local landowner. The exterior features include a crenelated tower, and ornate chimney pots; lots of interior features have nautical touches including the former ship’s mast the tower is built around, and the circular ‘porthole’ style windows on the northern elevation.
The core of the house is the open-plan kitchen/dining room/sitting room with double doors opening onto a balcony. This looks onto the River Devon and has a timber staircase and path leading down to the water’s edge from where a bridge leads over the water; inside there is an open fire and the dining room table seats ten.
