Glentower Lodge is a unique former shooting lodge in Perthshire which dates back to Victorian times. The house has a striking five-story castellated tower and was built in 1880 as a shooting lodge for a local landowner. The exterior features include a crenelated tower, and ornate chimney pots; lots of interior features have nautical touches including the former ship’s mast the tower is built around, and the circular ‘porthole’ style windows on the northern elevation.
The core of the house is the open-plan kitchen/dining room/sitting room with double doors opening onto a balcony. Outside the gardens have a mixture of woodland, rhododendrons and wild flowers and the River Devon flows through the property. The river has a population of wild brown trout and the fishing rights for both banks of the river are included in the sale.
Glentower House is situated in the hamlet of Glendevon on the southern edge of Perthshire and one of the most scenic glens in the lowlands.
