ABC Carpet will be hold a rare display of French style Savonnerie handmade pile carpets from Thursday September 10th until Saturday October 31 on the 2nd floor of Harrods.
Savonnerie is a hand knotted pile carpet in the Aubusson style, one of the most famous of all European carpets, and the exhibition will show carpets in wide range of sizes and designs, in delicate pastel colours. The original production of Savonnerie carpets was at its height between 1650 and 1685, and the style has become synonomous with massed flowers in bouquets against deep blue, black or deep brown grounds with multiple borders.
