Country Life magazine revealed in September this year that, of all the classic examples of country house architecture, the Queen Anne and Georgian period attracted the highest price tag.
Research from Savills has now revealed how much extra an aspiring country house owner will have to pay for a Georgian property.
The table below lists the premiums attached to period properties by architectural style and by region. The figures reflect the scarcity and desirability of certain types of property within each of these markets but may also reflect some poorer quality modern stock in some locations.
The most significant premiums are for Georgian properties (particularly in London where these properties are highly prized and command an average premium of 83% over all stock).
Savills Research looked at the average price each type of property compared with all property by postcode district, this was then grouped by region.
