Battersea Dogs & Cats home are looking to find the owners of Annabelle, a stray Dalmatian who found her way on the number 63 bus after getting lost.
She had been wandering outside Peckham Library on her own looking confused, and shocked the driver of the No. 63 bus when she jumped aboard and made herself comfortable on the top deck. Fortunately, a man from Rotherhithe was able to lead Annabelle back off the bus, using his bag as a make-shift lead.
Unable to find her owner and worried that she may get hit by traffic, the man took Annabelle to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. Unfortunately she has no tag or microchip, making it impossible for the charity to trace her owner. Operations Manager Claire Porteous explains: ‘At Battersea, 66% of our dogs arrive as strays, but it is very rare for stray Dalmatians to arrive at our gates. Her story highlights the importance of putting a collar and tag on your dog and getting it microchipped, as they are the only ways to ensure you are reunited if your pet goes missing.’
