Now is the time to increase the amount of water given to pot plants and to start their summer-feeding regime. Most indoor plants suffer from overwatering, a sort of slow death by over-indulgence, so make sure the pot drains fully each time. Foliage plants do best with a high-nitrogen feed during the summer months, whereas flowering beauties would prefer more potash. It’s written on the side of the bottle, so that there’s no great mystery. As a general rule, water twice a week, including a feed on one of those occasions.
