Simon Patterson: Under Cartel – an exhibition including a series
of photographic diptychs of equestrian statues from around the world.
Each photographic pairing represents the exchange of one sculpture for
another. The second section of the exhibition is a grid display of
paintings featuring the names of silent movie stars, which is a
continuation of the ‘Name Paintings’ series that Patterson has worked on

Pertaining to Things
Natural – taking advantage of a rare opportunity in the planting cycle
of the Chelsea Physic Garden, sculptor and curator David Worthington has
invited selected artists to create a series of installations and
interventions across the three-acre gardens beside the Thames. Visitors
will encounter monumental sculptures and more delicate, ephemeral works
that take their inspiration from the natural world. Artists include Hugo
Wilson, sculptor Joe Currie, Peter Randall-page, Tessa Farmer, Keith

Uncommon Ground – an exploration of
environmental interventions in contemporary photography. Inspired by
the work of Keith Arnatt and Gabriel Orozco, this exhibition aims to
obscure the intersection between photographs of observed reality and
artistically altered reality. Here, environment is taken in its broadest
sense: natural ecosystems, urban and suburban space, domestic

Catherine the Great, An Enlightened
Empress – marking the 250th anniversary of Catherine’s ascension to the
throne, this exhibition showcases the truly spectacular collections of
one of Russia’s most successful rulers, featuring objects that have
never been on display before outside Russia. To include superb French
silver and ceramics, important paintings acquired from France and
England, imperial court costumes and uniforms, and many of the finest
examples of porcelain, metal and polished stone ever made in Russia. At

Metamorphosis, Titian 2012 – a
collaboration for the London 2010 Cultural Olympiad between the National
Gallery, London, the Royal Ballet and choreographers, composers, poets
and the artists Conrad Shawcross, Chris Ofili and Mark Wallinger, in a
remarkable creative production inspired by Titian’s response to Ovid’s
epic Metamorphosis. His three paintings Diana and Actaeon, The Death of
Actaeon and Diana and Callisto are at the heart of the exhibition,
along with the artist’s works, ballet costumes and models of their sets
